Support for Bungamati Family House for Earthquake Orphans

In April and May 2015, several large earthquakes occurred in Kathmandu and its surrounding valleys. More than 8,000 people died and over 22,000 were injured in the landslides and collapsed homes. It was the biggest disaster in the history of Nepal. In cooperation with Nepal's honorary consul general, Ann-Katrin Bauknecht, and the Nepalese relief organization MAITI-Nepal, the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation supported a Family House project in Bungamati, about eight kilometres from Kathmandu. It provides a home and education for orphans in the area.
