Eliya Project: Support for a childcare centre

Gaining self-confidince in a playful way. The ELIYA organization has more than 30 years' experience and runs three local groups providing intensive support for children in Israel. One of these is in Jerusalem, which recently had its lease terminated and was forced to move. As part of the move, the care center is to be enlarged and specialized. The new ELIYA location in Jerusalem has been renovated and the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation also helped, together with the Jerusalem Foundation, with equipping the new wing for blind children. The wing includes a specially furnished classroom, a controlled multi-sensory environment, a bathroom area and a storeroom.

Support for Bungamati Family House for Earthquake Orphans

In April and May 2015, several large earthquakes occurred in Kathmandu and its surrounding valleys. More than 8,000 people died and over 22,000 were injured in the landslides and collapsed homes. It was the biggest disaster in the history of Nepal. In cooperation with Nepal's honorary consul general, Ann-Katrin Bauknecht, and the Nepalese relief organization MAITI-Nepal, the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation supported a Family House project in Bungamati, about eight kilometres from Kathmandu. It provides a home and education for orphans in the area.
