Sterile Rooms for Young Cancer Patients

The Budapest Marriott Hotel launched a special charity initiative for children in need in Hungary. The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation doubled the donations raised – a perfect example of how partnerships can multiply support.

Together with the Foundation for Children with Leukemia, two highly sterile treatment rooms were created. Here, children can receive their chemotherapy in a protected environment. This is important because children undergoing intensive chemotherapy have a very weakened immune system. Even minor infections can become life-threatening for them. The new rooms provide maximum protection through special air filtration systems and strict hygiene measures. For children with leukemia and other blood disorders, these rooms mean safety. They can undergo their treatment without the constant risk of infections – giving them a significantly better chance of recovery.
