Förderkreis krebskranke Kinder e.V. Stuttgart has been helping children and young people with cancer and their families in Stuttgart and the region during and after treatment since 1982. With the Blue House, the association has been offering families of children with cancer a temporary home since 2012, where parents and siblings can live and recharge their batteries in the immediate vicinity of Stuttgart Children's Hospital (Olga Hospital) during the young patients' treatment.
With around 6,000 overnight stays per year, the Blue House is very popular. However, the mattresses in the guest rooms were recently in a poor condition and urgently needed to be replaced. Thanks to our help, new mattresses were purchased, significantly improving sleeping comfort for the families and raising hygiene standards in the long term.
The laundry room was also modernized with our support: New linen cupboards now provide a better overview and make it easier to provide the guest rooms with fresh bed linen and towels.
The support and improvements directly benefit the families affected and are part of a long-standing, reliable cooperation with our partner.
