NEW EQUIPMENT FOR PRESCHOOL KINDERGARTEN
New indoor facilities and a new playground for socially disadvantaged children
A high-quality education is an important factor for early childhood development. In the UK, Absolute Return for Kidshas been working with an extensive network since 2002 to ensure that children from socially disadvantaged areas also have access to better educational opportunities. Through the preschool program of Absolut Return for Kids in the network's kindergartens, the children are prepared for school by, among other things, developing their vocabulary. Since educational success often depends on the social status of the parents, the program supports disadvantaged children in order to give them a better and equal chance as future students.

The all-day school "ARK Globe" in London has around 1,300 pupils. Over half of the children come from families with a low annual income. As the need for social support has increased in recent years, a third pre-school kindergarten is currently being built there.
The new interior will be an enrichment for the future preschool children. Qualified special teachers are looking forward to the new child-friendly furniture, which will also be used for flexible, all-round care of the children.
A new playground will be created outside where children can let off steam and play together. In addition to a sandpit, there will be plenty of climbing opportunities.
Social Impacts
The new preschool will accommodate up to 60 additional children each year, helping to level the playing field for children from less privileged backgrounds, and giving them the chance for a brighter future.
Measures by Absolute Return for Kids:
- Further development of vocabulary
- Qualified teachers eliminate deficits
- Stimulating activities for children provide additional learning experience
