Easter visits 2021: Surprise with Easter presents for 850 children

This year, again, Easter celebrations in large groups with families and friends have been cancelled for many people in Germany due to the Corona contact restrictions. Especially children who are currently in clinics or social institutions have been hit hard by the restrictions. Therefore, it was a special concern for the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation to stick to the tradition of "Easter visits" and again bring Easter joy to many children all over Europe.

Around 850 children in Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Spain could enjoy a visit from the Easter Bunny and presents around Easter this year - in line with Corona, of course. On March 31, SIXT employees distributed Easter surprises to the little ones on behalf of the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation in several Munich facilities and clinics.

Among others, the Children's Hospital and Children's Polyclinic at Dr. von Hauner's Children's Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House at the Heart Center, the German Heart Center Munich, Klinikum Großhadern, the Ronald McDonald House Großhadern, the Children's Hospital Schwabing and the Children's Hospital Harlaching were present. The Easter nests were filled with sweet treats and cuddly toys. In addition, around 250 children whose families come to the food bank "Münchener Tafel" were able to enjoy Easter baskets filled with gifts.

Regine Sixt, Chairman of the Board of the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation "Drying Little Tears":

"The current situation demands a lot from all of us. Particularly at occasions that we usually celebrate with our loved ones, it's hard to do without getting together in a larger group. Isolation is especially hard for children in hospitals or social institutions. That's why it's a matter close to my heart to give the smallest among us a little distraction and joy for this year's Easter."
