Thanks to our support, the outdoor playground at "De Blauwe Zon" has been modernized with new play equipment and one of the classrooms with new school furniture. In addition, some classrooms were insulated with soundproof walls to reduce the auditory stimuli and thus improve the concentration of the autistic children.
De Blauwe Zon (The Blue Sun) is a facility run by Stichting Driestroom at the interface between education, psychiatry and care for young children with autism and mental developmental delays. The children are largely dependent on individual support and do not (yet) have access to regular education. The small groups and lessons at De Blauwe Zon ensure that the children receive a lot of individual attention so that they are prepared for regular/special school in the best possible way.
