In the Ukrainian villages of Lechnivka and Selychsche, children sit in ice-cold classrooms every day. Russian attacks on critical infrastructure cause persistent power outages. Heating is often only possible for a few hours a day — if at all.
Together with Partnerschaftenverein Pullach e.V., we were able to deliver nearly 400 fleece blankets to two schools in the region. "The blankets were immediately very helpful," the school in Selychsche wrote to us. Now, at least, the children can keep themselves a little warm during lessons and breaks.
This emergency relief eases the most urgent needs — but it is far from enough. Children in these regions need functioning heating, a stable power supply and safe places to learn. The humanitarian situation remains critical. Our support must not stop now.
