Continued support for Ukrainian children

When war broke out in Ukraine in February 2022, thousands of people fled their homes within a few days. Many arrived on foot across the borders of neighboring Poland, Romania, Moldova, Hungary and Slovakia to escape the violence and destruction. There they were cared for by numerous aid organizations and volunteers who were on hand to set up tent cities, distribute food and organize relief supplies.

The Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS, together with partner organizations and supported by SIXT employees, immediately carried out numerous initiatives and projects to support Ukrainian refugee children throughout Europe. Help started with Support with the transport of relief supplies and fleeing families and ranged from furnishing accommodation to fundraising campaigns and integration measures.

Among other things, the tent cities of Habitat for Humanity were equipped with patio heaters so that the people did not have to freeze even in the wintry temperatures. Welcome backpacks were distributed and many of the facilities were equipped with play areas, toys and large Building Block Sets. SIXT employees are committed to the integration of Ukrainian children throughout Europe and organize excursions, support partner organizations at football tournaments and cheer up sick children with gifts.

With the help of numerous donations, we work tirelessly with partner organizations every day to enable children who have fled Ukraine to lead a largely normal everyday life.
