On September 30th, the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation "Drying Little Tears" invited children in need for the 20th time to the Munich Oktoberfest. About 150 needy and sick children from 11 institutions came from all over Germany to experience a carefree day at the Oktoberfest together with their companions.
As it has become a tradition in the past years, a colourful programme awaited the young guests this year as well. After amusing entertainment from a magician, balloon modeller and music, there was delicious Bavarian food and the obligatory stroll through the fair - including visits to rides and candy snacks. At the end of the day, when the children received their gifts as souvenirs, their eyes lit up with gratitude and joy.
Regine Sixt: "Regine's Kinderwiesn" is also this year a very special concern of my heart. I am very happy to be able to put a smile on the faces of the children, who experience a lot of suffering in their everyday life. With the numerous attractions, we make it possible for them to have a carefree day away from their daily routines of the clinic. It is the essential task of my Children's Aid Foundation to help children in need and to enable them to lead a fulfilled life. In particular, I would like to thank all helpers and sponsors who have made the 20th "Kinderwiesn" possible together with us.
Regines Kinderwiesn" was supported by, among others, the landlord of the marquee Ludwig Reinbold and Dr. Auma Obama, who gave comfort to the children present on-site. With her foundation "Auma Obama Foundation - Sauti Kuu", Dr. Auma Obama is committed to giving disadvantaged children and young people around the world prospects for an independent life.
