For the children staying in the Carros SOS Village, the educational team provides support in a special area called “Community Home”. The area is the heart of the SOS Children's Village and was renovated with the financial support of the foundation. The new inviting space ensures that the children can feel comfortable. This has also improved the way they are cared for, particularly by fostering bonds with their families.
Additionally, a previously unused room was converted to create a soundproof telephone booth. This phone booth allows children to make so-called mediatized calls in complete privacy. These calls concern children whose relationships with their parents are sensitive and risky. Contact must therefore be ensured outside of the living environment and in the presence of a specialist. The creation of the phone booth is a major improvement in managing this complex family exchange.
