We are pleased to announce that the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation has completed a significant project in collaboration with the Brotherhood of Blessed Gérard in Mandeni, South Africa. In the new facility, the Brotherhood of Blessed Gérard represents the Malteser relief organization in South Africa and provides much-needed support to children in one of the poorest regions of South Africa.
The joint project focused on renovating and equipping the kitchen and sanitary facilities, as well as creating play areas for the children of a children's home. A total of 40 children aged 0 to 12 benefit from this funding. By renovating the premises and improving the equipment, an environment is created that corresponds to a loving home. Carers act as parent figures and help the children to develop confidence and important life skills. A large part of the funding was used to renovate the aging building, while another part went into equipping the interior.
This project is a significant step towards improving the quality of life and educational opportunities of the children at Blessed Gérard’s Children’s Home.
