On top of the roof of the Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, where until recently there was a vacant space, there is now a multi-purpose garden of relaxation. The project was initiated by the Ministry of Health, under the legislature of Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, now retired President of the Republic of Malta, and the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation. Several companies and non-governmental organisations financed the renovation work, including the design with new plants, flower pots, tables, chairs and benches.
The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS participated in the roof garden for the benefit of the smallest members of our society by financing playground equipment. Now the children can play on the double or nest swing during visiting hours, or happily jump on the trampoline.
