Thanks to our support, the children at the HOKISA children's home and all the children from the Masiphumelele township can now play safely again on the renovated playground: the popular climbing frame and swing have been repaired, the artificial turf and wooden benches have been replaced, and a brand-new slide has even been purchased.
The children's home run by the HOKISA e.V. support association provides a home for up to 20 children who are affected by HIV/AIDS, among other things, and cannot be raised by their families or neighbors. As a central meeting place, the playground enables the children to make new contacts and friends, while at the same time counteracting the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS and discrimination against (orphaned) children.
