Help for children and families affected by Hurricane "Ian"

On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian hit the west coast of Florida with winds up to 150 mph, leaving a trail of devastation and tragically fatalities. Streets were flooded, trees were uprooted, and more than 1.8 million households had to do without electricity for weeks. With thousands of homes destroyed, entire families were deprived of their shelter and livelihood.

SIXT USA and SIXT employees in Fort Lauderdale acted immediately and organized a fundraiser, collecting relief supplies such as water, hygiene items, canned goods, clothing and children's items. These donations, which filled an entire truck, were personally delivered by SIXT employees to the disaster area, specifically to St. Matthew's House in the city of Naples.

"St Matthew's House is committed to meeting the needs of our community in the wake of Hurricane Ian, but we could not do this without the help of so many. We are grateful for the tremendous support from SIXT and what we can do with these donations for so many in need.” Hilary Lemaster, Director of Institutional Giving and Grants, St Matthew's House
