In the 2025 school year, the Regine Sixt Kinderhilfe Stiftung took over the funding of school materials and meals at Winnie Ngwekazi Primary School.
In Pimville, a township in Johannesburg, the organisation FXB supports 80 children from particularly difficult backgrounds throughout the entire school year. The community is marked by high unemployment, poverty and crime — an environment where education often becomes a challenge. At Winnie Ngwekazi Primary School, the children receive everything they need for a good school day: pens, notebooks, school uniforms and a daily hot meal — for many, the only one of the day. Families in especially difficult circumstances also receive food parcels. Through tablets, the children learn to use digital tools and can independently do research and complete homework. The programme is complemented by psychosocial support and life skills training, helping the children gradually build self-confidence and a sense of perspective.
This project was launched in 2024 as part of #TeamOrange4Children — initiated by Jacques De Villeplee from SIXT France.
