The school Devoir is located in Agoè-Zongo, a poor suburb of Lomé, the capital of Togo. It was founded in 1997 as an elementary school and has been supervised and supported by the association "Mon Devoir e.V." from Freiburg since 2007. The expansion of the school to include a kindergarten had been on the wish list of the association for a long time, because the big goal is to give all children in the poor village a chance at education from preschool to high school.
We were therefore happy to support the construction of the kindergarten in 2018. In addition to the walls, electrical and sanitary facilities were also installed. Today, three educators look after around 90 children every day in the two years preparing for primary school. The children also receive two meals, which are prepared by a cook.
