In October, SIXT franchisee Portugal | JAP Rent a car organized an initiative with APPACDM Porto, the Portuguese association of parents and friends of people with intellectual disabilities, demonstrating how team building and corporate volunteering can be combined in an excellent way.  

Over two days, around 45 SIXT employees from various teams spent time with young people at the facility, got to know their craft workshops, and made Christmas tree decorations together. For many colleagues, it was their first corporate volunteering day and a very memorable one at that. The SIXT franchisee emphasizes that, in addition to the positive team dynamics, it is above all the feeling of solidarity and the realization of the impact of interpersonal gestures that will remain in their memories for a long time. 

APPACDM Porto supports people of all ages with disabilities, developmental disorders, or other impairments. The aim is to promote self-determination and active participation. As part of its early intervention programs, the organization also cares for the youngest children up to the age of 6.
