How DRYING LITTLE TEARS supports - You can help too!
When the earth begins to shake with a magnitude of 7.7 in the early morning of February 6th 2023 in the border region between Turkey and Syria, most people are caught sleeping. Within a very short time, entire streets lie in rubble. Thousands of people fall victim to the devastating earthquake or are seriously injured, including many children. People are still missing. In freezing temperatures, rescue workers and aid workers do not give up their search in the ruins.
The quake is the region's worst natural disaster in a century. More than 25 million people urgently need humanitarian aid. The need is immense. The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation is in continuous contact with partner organisations on the ground and, together with SIXT SE, provides support where help is needed.
Intensive care for affected children
Mehrere tausend Kinder sind verletzt, einige schwer. Viele der Kinder haben durch das Erdbeben ihre Familie verloren und sind nun Waisen. Die Regine Sixt Kinderhilfe Stiftung TRÄNCHEN TROCKNEN unterstützt den Malteser Hilfsdienst bei der Intensivversorgung dieser Kinder mit einer umfangreichen Spende.

EMERGENCY AID BY SIXT TURKEY
As a valuable local partner, the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation is in close contact with SIXT Turkey. The colleagues on site immediately became active and formed a disaster committee to coordinate with the authorities. Relief supplies have already been made available as well as transport facilities for medical professionals, NGO personnel and relief workers. In addition, a large team of SIXT employees agreed to bring relief supplies to the region and provide on-site support. In the coming weeks and months, SIXT Turkey will continue to support the reconstruction efforts together with DRYING LITTLE TEARS.
SIXT EMPLOYEES DONATE
As part of the SIXT Global Help Network an extensive internal fundraising campaign was called for internationally in order to provide children on site with help as quickly and easily as possible together with the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation. DRYING LITTLE TEARS is in continuous exchange with humanitarian aid organisations on site in order to find out where the funds will have the greatest effect.
RELIEF SUPPLIES FOR THE AFFECTED REGION
People in the affected region are homeless and have lost all their possessions. More than 1.5 million people are living in emergency shelters. The need for relief goods such as hygiene articles, blankets, tents, warm clothing, sleeping bags and food is immense. The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS supports with relief goods such as the provision of fleece blankets to keep children in particular warm in the winter temperatures.
RELIEF GOODS FROM SIXT ITALY
Employees of SIXT Italy showed a particularly high level of commitment. Thanks to a large-scale donation campaign, sleeping bags, medical items, food, hygiene articles and other emergency relief goods were collected and transported to the crisis area by van to be distributed quickly and easily to the suffering population, especially children and families.

The time has finally come and the construction of the Kinakoni primary school will start in August 2022. Under the guidance of experts, the whole village lends a hand. A total of ten classrooms are to be built so that the approximately 250 children have enough space to study. The school will also have an extension for the sanitary facilities in order to improve the hygiene situation of the approximately 140 girls and 110 boys. Renovation and new construction of the buildings will take ten to twelve months.
