The Baphumelele orphanage, founded in 2001, offers accommodation for more than 100 children in several houses. Many of them were brought there as newborns or were given shelter when their parents died. In addition to the crèche and a kindergarten in the orphanage, the founder Rosie Mashale also looks after children who already attend school and live independently in the houses.
We were able to support the children and the orphanage by providing much-needed warm clothing for the children. We also provided equipment for the houses, such as bed linen, blankets and electronic devices for the kitchens.
The importance of this support is best expressed in the direct words of Rosie Mashale “Mama Rosie”: “I am so grateful for your generosity and willingness to help. You have positively impacted the lives of all the orphans, the staff and most importantly the community as a whole. The blankets were delivered at just the right time when the children were freezing cold.”
