Joint winter activities for families and their children with disabilities

Because there are too few active nature, sports and leisure activities in winter for children and young people with disabilities, the ski bob training camp and the ski bob family days in Austria offer ideal conditions to enable education, interaction and joy in joint activities during barrier-free nature and sports experiences. Because especially for children with physical or multiple disabilities, exercise and being close to their families is important.

In the ski bob training camp, children and teenagers from 10 to 18 years of age get the opportunity to learn how to ski with so-called adapted ski bobs - a great change for the kids that guarantees a lot of fun. In addition to the physical-motor movement, which is particularly important for the children, they also grow together as a group during the training, which strengthens their social-emotional skills. The training thus provides holistic support in the physical, mental and spiritual areas.

In addition, the training promotes an inclusive approach by also allowing the children's parents and siblings to spend time skiing. This valuable family time spent enjoying a hobby together is particularly important for parents and children alike, and is rarely possible due to the children's disabilities. The participating children are enabled to participate socially here by experiencing sports, nature and community together with people without disabilities.

The skibob training sessions and family days are organized and made possible by the Pfennigpararde Foundation. The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation has also supported this valuable initiative. If you would also like to make a contribution, we would be delighted to receive your donation!
