Renovation work on the petting zoo at Irmengard Hof
Irmengard Hof on the Bavarian Chiemsee serves as the follow-up care and recovery complex of the Björn Schulz Foundation, a facility for families with seriously and chronically ill children, adolescents, and young adults. When a child is seriously ill or lives with a disability, the entire family faces numerous challenges and is tested on a daily basis. A relaxing stay at Irmengard Hof promotes family cohesion and supports each family member’s individual needs.
The complex is located in the center of the beautiful Chiemgau region, with barrier-free access to the lake, and invites families to relax, interact, and enjoy leisure activities together in a supportive environment. In 2011, with the support of the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation, a children’s petting zoo was built at the facility as a therapeutic measure for sick children. Now, eight years later, repairs, improvements, and new additions are necessary in order to continue using the petting zoo to its full potential. The Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation places great importance on the sustainability of its projects. For this reason, the foundation is pleased to be able to support the petting zoo as a source of relaxation and recreation that will allow many families to enjoy a relaxing holiday at Irmengard Hof in the future.
