Renovation of a baby therapy centre in South Africa

For more than 27 years, the Baby Therapy Centre's mission as a centre for early childhood intervention and development has been to promote the health of children by minimising developmental delays and addressing existing or emerging special needs. The centre cares for the whole family by assisting with adaptive parenting and family functioning. In this way, the different emotional and physical needs of children with special needs can be addressed.

To ensure that the Baby Therapy Centre can continue to provide the most innovative and modern therapy programmes to each of its little patients with the utmost care and dedication, renovation work began in April 2021 at the centre in Pretoria, South Africa. In the course of the renovation, the reception area, the therapy rooms and the waiting area were renewed.  In addition, the installations in the bathrooms were renovated.

The Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation financed the equipment for the expansion of the centre with modern devices. For this purpose, the IT infrastructure was also brought up to date with the help of a local company. Thanks to our donation, the "Baby Therapy Centre" now has the possibility to care for more infants and children up to the age of six. Thus, more children have a chance for an autonomous life.

"We would like to thank the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation very much for this generous donation. South Africa has suffered tremendous economic setbacks and donations are not provided. Therefore, this donation has enabled us to regain our therapy services and be able to serve our community of children with special needs. These therapy interventions are critical to improving their quality of life, and we can't stress enough how grateful we are to be able to continue our important work." - Maryke Allers, Baby Therapy Centre, Funraising Coordinator
