New rooms for counseling and pastoral care at Alder Hey Children's Hospital

In the course of the reconstruction and renovation of the Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation DRYING LITTLE TEARS made a donation. This made it possible to furnish two rooms for pastoral care and counseling. The new rooms create a feeling of calm and serenity through their design and are thus ideal for counseling.

With the multiple pyramid roof structure visible from afar and the walled garden, the building has a strong presence on the Alder Hey site. Inside, the sensitive furniture mix of different materials blends seamlessly with the light interior color scheme of clinker brick and high vaulted ceilings. The Alder Center team is excited to be working in a "beautiful building" again. They believe they will benefit as much from their new surroundings as the families they will accompany during the most difficult time of their lives.

The Alder Center building was completed in the fall of 2020 and offered most of its bereavement services online due to COVID restrictions. Conversations have since resumed in person and in the new space.
