Integration center for disadvantaged children in the Ukraine

The Maltese International Integration Center for Disadvantaged Children can be found in the small town of Beregovo, near the Hungarian border in western Ukraine. The center’s goal is to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged Roma children between the ages of 6 and 15. Today, between 30 and 40 children benefit from the project, with this number expected to rise to between 50 and 60. Children in the integration center have the opportunity to grow up in a protected environment, to receive an education, and to learn important social values.

This project takes an important step toward equal opportunities – including for disadvantaged children. With the help of the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation, the center will be able to renovate one of their buildings in the coming months, allowing more children to benefit from this valuable project in the future.
