Construction of a children's care center
The Lerato Day Care Center was founded in 2014 in the South African township of Hammanskraal north of Pretoria. Together with the Christian-Humanitarian Foundation JAM (Joint Aid Management), the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation supported the complete reconstruction of the Day Care center by renewing the buildings, planting trees for shade and expanding the vegetable garden, building a playground, as well as providing furniture and learning material. Furthermore, the Regine Sixt Children's Aid Foundation supported Lerato with a years´ supply of the soy-maize porridge. The center currently takes care of 45 children as well as 150 orphans and is giving them a save space to grow.
