The Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation shares a long-standing partnership with the Alder Hey Children’s Charity in Liverpool having already realized several projects together. The latest project benefited “The Alder Centre”, a centre supporting families affected by the death of their child.
The Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation recently supported Alder Hey with a donation enabling the provision of furniture, soft furnishings and lighting for two rooms within the Alder Centre. These premises will be utilised as counselling spaces for bereavement support services tailored to the needs of those that have suffered the tragic loss of a child.
The Official Opening of The Alder Centre was celebrated on Friday, 10th September 2021. Jamie Holt, Head of Operations SIXT UK, attended this opening:
“Was wonderful to see the new centre and hear about the brilliant work they do. The space is used as a base for bereaved parents who have lost a child and provides a tranquil area for them to use for quiet reflection, counselling and similar. It is open to parents, friends, teachers and any members of the public that have been impacted by the death of a child. This is also the first purpose-built space of this kind in the UK and will be helping over 300 families in the coming months.”
